Topic:  Texas HUB Certification-A Good Tool for Women-Owned Businesses

Emma is a Senior Field Advisor for the Northwest Texas Procurement Technical Assistance Center (NWT PTAC) at Texas Tech University. She holds a Master’s degree from Texas Tech University in Higher Education and also an MBA from Sul Ross State University. As an employee of over 15 years at TTU, she is a proud Red Raider.

PTAC assists business owners interested in governmental contracting. We were authorized by Congress in 1985 in an effort to expand the number of businesses capable of participating in the government marketplace and administered by the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). We provide a wide range of professional services at no charge including classes, events, one-on-one counseling, assistance to apply for the certification of the Texas HUB, Women-Owned Small Business, Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business, Veteran, Service Disabled Veteran, 8(a), or the Federal HUBZone, teach you how to access bid opportunities, understand contract specifications, prepare a capability statement, apply for the Unique Entity ID, a SAM registration, and provide up to date information on regulations and laws. Our website is: www.nwtptac.org

NWT PTAC serves approximately 99 counties in Northwest Texas and currently have offices in Lubbock (TTU), Abilene (TTU) and Wichita Falls (Midwestern State University-TTU System) with plans for expansion in 2022-2023 to more locations.

Texas Women in Business - Lubbock Chapter is committed to supporting our local community.  Every year we select two deserving local non-profits.

At this time we are asking for donations

in support of  "Parent Life"

Parent Life is a local non-profit that works with teens who are expecting or teen parents.  They encourage the teens through mentoring to continue their education and move towards independent living.  They are connected with Youth for Christ.  One of the things they provide is diapers for babies.
