This month's Speaker is: Kay McDowell
Kay McDowell is the first female president and CEO of the Lubbock Texas Chamber of Commerce. She began her role in September of 2021. She is responsible for leading a diverse team of volunteer business leaders and professional staff to fulfill the Chamber’s mission to strengthen, promote, and serve the Lubbock business community. Kay has more than 25 years of experience in consumer marketing, corporate reputation, and brand building. Most recently she was an Executive Vice President of Public Relations at Mitchell Communications, a dentsu agency. During her career at Mitchell and in the public relations industry, she led integrated marketing campaigns for some of the nations most loved and recognized brands including Procter & Gamble, Cracker Barrel, Massage Envy, Johnston & Murphy, Tyson Foods, Mattel Corporate and Mattel brands including Hot Wheels, Barbie and Fisher Price.

Women’s Protective Services of Lubbock is an innovative, battered women’s shelter designed to de-institutionalize shelter living, helping families heal and grow into an independent life free from violence. WPS provides crisis intervention, emergency shelter, and support services to battered women and their dependent children across the South Plains. WPS The WPS shelter is designed to provide a complete healing environment for families who seek protection.
